Use the factory VariPhrases, sample your own material, or import phrases created on Roland’s VP-9000 as well as .WAV files (from 100MB Zip™ disks). Standard MIDI File player/recorder with Minus-One function for using pre-recorded songs as accompaniments for your live performances. 16-track sequencer with extensive editing functions. Song selection can be included in the User Program settings (with automatic loading if the required disk has been inserted). Song Chain function allows you to program “playlists". Great for entertainers who want to take a break from time to time. Lyrics data contained in Standard MIDI Files are displayed on-screen. You’ll never forget the words again.

 AMAZING FLEXIBILITY MEETS AMAZING SOUND QUALITYWith Version 2.0, the Roland VA-7 once again redefines what power and realtime flexibility in an arranger keyboard are all about. Music Assistant: touch-and-go registration settings for over 730 famous songs, with the possibility to create many more and save them to Zip™ disk for instant access. Keyboard Part control now available via the touch screen: layer and mix Keyboard parts via the display. The VariPhrase Part can now be assigned to the left half of the keyboard (in SPLIT mode). Import text files with song lyrics, link them to your tunes and save the SMF with Lyrics data to disk. You can now enhance previously recorded songs by adding a VariPhrase part (track 13). The “Basic” and “Advanced” accompaniments can now be selected directly via the front panel. For added realtime flexibility, the pedal functions of an optional FC-7 Foot Controller are now programmable. The One Touch menu contains fields for alternating between the Upper 1 and Upper 2 Keyboard parts right there and then. AUTOLOAD function for VariPhrase Sets, User Programs, Songs, MIDI Sets.
